It is the middle of winter in Australia right now and it's very coooollllldddddd! Getting out of bed in the mornings has been such a huge struggle. I'm also currently on uni holidays and have been using this time to catch-up on sleep and meeting up with my friends who I haven't seen in a while. I also had my uni results come out not too long ago and that has been a really anxious wait. I wasn't happy with how I progressed academically last semester. It was a difficult semester but I'm so happy that I made it through and now am ready to tackle another semester. Anyways, all that aside, today I want to share with you my skincare routine for this chilly season!

Tartelette in Bloom!

Long time no post! I've been eaten up by my end of semester exams, quite literally ahahaha. I have just been studying non-stop for the past few weeks. This semester has been the toughest for me so far but I am glad to have made it through and to just not have to study for a while. Studying and the whole aspect of uni itself does mentally drain you but there is no denying that it is an invaluable experience. Anyways, I decided to buy the tarte tartelette in bloom eyeshadow palette as a little treat to myself for making it through this semester. 

Face Masks Getting Me Through The Colder Weather

Is it June already!? It's winter in Melbourne already! The past few months have been getting colder and colder and that means my skin is getting drier as I crank up the heater to stay warm. It doesn't help that it's exam season, so my skin has also been stressed out because of that. To help combat that, I have been using quite a few face masks and these are the ones I'm currently loving.

L'Oreal Pure Clay Mask

The weather in Australia is much cooler now and that means my already dry skin is preparing to up itself in dryness. I was super excited to see L'Oreal launch its range of face masks and already I am a tiny bit late into picking one up, I have managed to get my hands one! There are three varieties in this range - the Purifying & Mattifying Mask, Detoxifying & Brightening Mask and Exfoliating & Smoothing Mask. Of course, I picked up the exfoliating one because dryness is really playing up :(

I cannot believe how quickly the year is going by! It's already May, whutttt? How are we in May already? I honestly am baffled by just how fast this year is going by! I've been pretty busy in recent weeks. Uni work and assignments are definitely piling on and I've recently had a change in managers so it was all about adjusting to this work change. 

The cooler months are definitely upon us as well and I fell sick as well, which wasn't very pleasant. :( But I'm all better now, which is a good thing. (: I've finished up quite a few products a while ago but haven't quite got around to writing up a post about it, but here it is! 

Getting My Nails Done for the First Time!

Nails! I love getting my nails painted! I got my nails professional done for the very first time two weeks ago for my ball and just wanted to share about my experience! Normally I would paint my nails myself but I didn't want to have to worry about the chipping and it will be nice to have a long-lasting manicure, so I decided to get my nails glammed up at the salon! (Please ignore my dry fingers :'( I have really dry skin on my hands :'( )

GRWM || Ball Time!

Time has been flying by like hotcakes! These past few weeks have been absolutely hectic for me - I have just been swamped with uni assessments, lectures, work and everything else that comes in between! You don't really think about it but uni does really hit you week after week, especially when there are other commitments also on your plate. Before you know, the uni week has already finished and the next one is already here and assessment due dates/test dates are looming closer than you originally thought. 

Thankfully, the Easter break is here! Yayyy! Time to make sure that I am up-to-date with my studies and to consolidate what I have learnt so far. Kicking off the Easter break, I got to a faculty ball last night! My friends and I rented an Airbnb apartment in the city to get ready. Alright, let's do a post GRWM :)

HAUL || Recent Purchases

It's been quite a while hasn't it? Uni been back at full swing and in the midst of juggling that along with everything that I have on my plate, it has come at the sacrifice of sleep. Though, at the same time, it is a good thing. Life is a lot more bustling and I do miss my friends and the uni environment! It just means life is that little bit more stressful with assignments and other commitments lined up. 

My make-up routine has been pretty the same every day but I did make some new purchases recently. Let's see what I've purchased!

ZOEVA Vegan Face Set

The ZOEVA brand has making their name out as inexpensive, quality make-up brushes for the past few years and it has been growing strong with heaps of positive reviews for their products. I have been meaning to get some new make-up brushes for a while now and now I finally have one of their sets in my hands. I got the Vegan Face set in silver finish, which just looks stunning. It comes with a small clutch and most also comes with a brush guard. I needed a few more face brushes so I decided to go for this set which seems to cover a bit of everything. 

Monthly Favourites || January 2017

Time is literally flying! I can't believe we're in February already! I honestly have no idea what I have done with my time. I spent most of January working if not going to eat, which has taken a big dint in my wallet. But I'm telling myself that it's all good because food is satisfying, ehehe. This month was pretty dull make-up wise and but I did find myself gravitating towards a few items this month. 

HAUL || ONE LAST TIME FOR 2016

I got quite a few make-up items throughout the end of 2016 because of sales and the Christmas season. I was working heaps throughout the Christmas peak so I ended up doing most of my shopping online. Most of the Black Friday sales from the US were present here in Australia but was limited exclusively online. Soon after the Black Friday sales was the Boxing Day sale and End-of-Year Stocktake sale, which is actually still available on some sites! So it was sale after sale after sale, and this meant some shopping had to be done. I didn't get too many make-up items but did manage to add a few nice ones to my collection.

GRWM || Ringing in 2017

December has been cray-cray and I was losing sleep and sanity juggling two retail jobs over the Christmas season - reason as to why I have not posted in a while, ehehe. This month has gone by so so sooooo fast! And the year has come to an end already! I honestly have no idea where the year has gone. This year has definitely been an amazing year for me. Although there were some ups and some downs, it is without a doubt that this year has changed my life for the better. It brought me some amazing experiences and has allowed me to meet some of the best people on earth. I am so so so grateful for the year and how far I have come since the start of the year. I started off the year coming home from Shanghai after an overseas study exchange trip, joined a university club that I am very passionate about, got myself a new part-time job, then a Christmas casual role and finally here, readying myself for my penultimate year in university. I have learnt so much new skills and also saw myself grow in such a way that I never knew was even possible! Here's to hoping 2017 will be an even better year!

Unique Gel-Like Toner

innisfree is a brand that I really love. It is a Korean beauty brand and they have some of the most amazing skin care products on the market. I needed a new toner as I just was about to finish the one that I was using at the time when there was a free shipping promotion from innisfree. Having enjoyed several of their products, I decided to pick up a new toner from them. It's unlike any other toner that I have previously used but I am quite enjoying it. 

Lazy Everyday Make-Up Routine

It feels like forever since I last made a post, and it has been as I was swarmed with the pressures of exams. But now that it's over it means I can continue what I've always been doing, just without the guilt, hehehe. And yesss, being free from exams and studying feels so good!

This semester I was pretty much either running late to class or woke up feeling sleep-deprived due to the many late nights and early rises. As a result of that, I needed a make-up routine that was quick and simple and I have pretty much perfected my routine. It just takes me 5-10 minutes to walk out of my door and ready to start my day, which generally involves more sleeping on the train, ehehe. I try to keep my make-up really natural and use minimal products because again, this results in more sleep time. And who can resist sleep?

It takes me quite a while to finish my products but just recently I have been piling up with finished products and thought it would be a great time to do an empties post and to also procrastinate from the studying that I should be doing, ehehe.  

The Daily Skin Care

Skin care is very important to me but I like to keep my routine quick and simple because one extra minute saved is one extra minute for me to do something else! It usually takes me five minutes or so to give my face a good clean.

Haul || innisfree

I am almost finished with some of the skin care products that I am currently using and it was just in time there was a very sweet incentive on innisfree that was enough for me to make a spontaneous online shopping trip. Shipping to Australia is ridiculously expensive but innisfree was offering free worldwide shipping on orders over $80USD and seeing as I needed to top-up on some skin care, there was no reason for me to say no to such an offer.
